We live in a time when things we depend on, like building houses and providing shelter, are becoming increasingly critical to the state of our spaceship Earth. Natural resources are limited; man-made climate change is a fact. Architecture can be part of the solution when it comes to the worthwhile use of building materials.
Wood is the only renewable construction material, that is growing and useable for load-bearing structures. Timber Architecture offers advantages and a great variety of possibilities to enhance the ecological turnaround. The lecture gives an overview of smaller and larger-scale projects and demonstrates the capacities and beauty of building with wood.

木材是唯一的生长于自然界并可用于承重结构的建筑材料。木构建筑在促进生态环境的转型方面有着天然的优势和无限可能。讲座通过讲述相关建成项目和研究成果,借以展示木构建筑之潜力与美学特征。
Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Frank Lattke has made an apprenticeship as a cabinet maker and studied Architecture at TU München and ETSAM Madrid. From 2002-2014 he held the position of an academic researcher at the chair for Timber Architecture of Prof. Hermann Kaufmann at the Faculty of Architecture of TU München. At that time Frank was a research coordinator for national and international research projects.
In Augsburg he is running Lattke Architekten, an architectural office focused on Timber Architecture. Since September 2022 he has been Professor for Building Construction and Digital Fabrication at Nuernberg Tech.
弗兰克·拉特克教授任职于德国纽伦堡理工大学,负责建筑构造与数字化建造教学研究。他不仅受过专业的木工训练,而且在德国慕尼黑工业大学和西班牙马德里理工大学完成了建筑学硕士学位。
2002-2014年,他担任慕尼黑工业大学建筑学院赫尔曼·考夫曼教授木构研究所的高级研究员,负责国内和国际研究项目的科研协调工作。拉特克教授也是德国注册建筑师,创立了个人建筑事务所,专注木构建筑设计实践工作。
